Since the Mellon is 43 years old, and no help seems to be forthcoming, where do you think the future home of the Penguins should be?
Since the NHL has added MN back in the mix, is Hartford back in too? The Wolfpack don't draw as much as they'd like, and they were a winning team. Add one to the mid-west? The west is full. (Like CA needs yet another team). Replace a Quebec or Winnipeg?

On ESPN's bottom line on my PC earlier today, that was an article with Super Mario complaining again about the lack of political/business support for a new arena plan. But with the City of Pittsburgh near bankruptcy, they may not be able to contribute A-N-Y money to the project. Some bill in the Pennsylvania legislature that would generate money for a new arena via slot machines is being debated, but I'm not sure if it will be passed or not this year . .

THE BOTTOM LINE: At some point, Super Mario & Co. are just going to have to bite the bullet and move the team to Portland or Houston if the Steel City won't build them an arena. The team is losing too much money playing at ancient Mellon Arena . . . Perhaps Pittsburgh can only support the Pirates & Steelers (and Pitt hoops/football) anyhow, considering how small the market is . .
