He mentions Carolina in the following passage regarding RBs available in the draft:

If either the Eagles or Panthers pass on selecting a back, the Colts, who lost James, are sure to see an excellent runner fall right into their laps."

Let's assume 1 of the 3 best running backs after Bush is available would Carolina pull the trigger?

What kind of hands does White have? I would think good hands would be a prerequisite for an Eagle RB. I tend to agree that he would not seem to be a fit for the Eagles.

Likewise, it would seem to go against type for Denver to draft a RB in round 1.

Atlanta could throw a "monkey wrench" in the works by grabbing a RB in the first round.

Actually I disagree. Philly just didn't have a powerback last season. It doesn't necessarily mean they don't want one. Honestly they'd probably do like Atlanta does with Duckett and Dunn if they could. They'd mainly run Westbrook and White would get the short carries. Its very possible they'd take him, and I've seen sites that have shown them picking him up.

I realize that but the chances of getting a guy who can start right away tend to go down the further along in the draft you go.

LenDale White is exactly what the Eagles will want. They already have Westbrook and Westbrook Jr (Moats), but they've been handicapped by Correll Buckhalter's injury issues three out of the last four seasons.

Baltimore may still take LenDale White also. The Jamal Lewis deal is speculated to be a one year bandaid, and Mike Anderson is not a long term answer. I SERIOUSLY doubt they pull the trigger on White, but it's possible.
