Delivering Smiles
So, I wasn't sure what to do this week. We just lost our mom yesterday. She had been sick for a long time, and things turn a bad turn Thursday night. It's surreal. Taking care of her has been my #1 priority for the last several months, and now, that space is empty. What do you do?
Well I don't know the answer to that right now. Here are some things that I do know:
1) She loved the Panthers.
2) She loved her two sons.
3) She was extremely proud of my brother for his work on the website - and make no mistake, that's my brother's website. I'm happy to contribute whenever and however I can, but my brother has poured his heart and soul into it.
4) She would not want us to crawl into a hole of despair and stop doing the things we love. Even while she was very ill, she was annoyed if I wouldn't watch the games.
Honestly, I don't fucking feel like watching football tomorrow, but fuck my feelings. And I'm not expecting any storybook scenario. Calais Campbell doesn't give a shit about my situation. He wants to get to Kyle Allen and strip that football - and I think he will. I don't care about that. I will watch the destruction, because my mom will be pissed if I don't.
So, with all of that in mind, I've decided that the best option is to Keep Pounding - which is not just a slogan, but a way of life. It's not for the good times. It's for these times. It's when you don't want to get up, but choose to anyway. Because the choice is all we really have in the end.
