What that means to me is that these wins are not being given to us. Maybe we are even better than we think!

That goes double for drives where you can put the game out of reach and get me MY FUCKING MONEY.

the Davis fumble is somewhat excusable.
We've gotta do better overall, obviously, and we might want to start putting our running backs in better positions to make plays (outside the tackles, for instance, where Davis and Foster are both good, or in the passing game). A lot of those turnovers are Delhomme's, and obviously he's gotten better at that (while, noticeably, we're limiting his best assets).

The other thing is that those other teams make defensive plays, where we don't. Forced fumbles were this team's forte last year, those aren't coming as much, and INTs we've always been poor at. Don't expect a ton of them coming from the Colts, either.

Oh yea, I'd agree on the forcing turnovers side of things. We have forced only 1 fumble in 4 games. As agressive as we are on defense thats kinda strange.

Biggest improvement from last season is obvious. This team is 2nd in the league at rushing yrds per game and about mid pack as far as offense goes. Last yr: 30th in the league in total offense.

Speaking of outside the tackles, it seems they've tried to hit Foster with the deep ball a coupla times now.

All our deep balls missed yesterday. We'll need to stick those against Indy.


Oh - and Foster needs to lower his pads.

I think a big part of it is Mark Fields. He forced a lot of fumbles last year....I also noticed that our poor tackling was really exposed in the win vs. New Orleans. Every game, I notice missed tackles....more than usual for a team that is labeled 'defensive' like ours. However in this past game,...it was really exposed.

Fields was a difference maker I believe.

Certainly Fields' near-league leading 5 FF will be missed (Rucker had 4, Pep 5) but we need to be making plays in the secondary.

But the only play SD has learned is strong 36

Wouldn't Foster do better at running outside the tackles. It seems like Henning thinks because SD can push it through Foster should be able to do it also. One other thing Foster looks scared sometimes. Granted it a miracle htat he can run at all. I think it would be better for him to show case his speed on the edge.
