Panthers Acquire CHRIS HARRIS (S-Bears)!!

Bears traded S Chris Harris to the Panthers for an undisclosed draft pick.
Harris started late last season, but the Bears brought in Adam Archuleta to be the starting strong safety.

The Bears traded safety Chris Harris on Thursday to Carolina for an undisclosed pick in the 2008 draft.

Harris started the first two games and the final five of last season and was a starter in Super Bowl XLI.

Interesting. Kinda aggressive safety, listed as a free. Young, good size. A starter, and now we need to figure out who the other guy is.

Glad we did something. Right now I'm not sure what to think, but if we gave up a pick before 5th, I'm not going to be happy with that.

I don't know much about him. Posters on the Bears board are kind of shocked and didn't like seeing him go. They mention that they have alot of depth at safety though.

If the Bears (who seem to have some personnel savy when it comes to DBs) currently see Brown, Manning, Payne(rook) and even ol’ Archuleta as better options currently then we shouldn’t exactly get too giddy IMO

I think Archuleta blows, but to each their own.

It's not that Harris is "great". But he's something, and I'll take that. Plus he's ours for two years. Downside? He might not be that great, but he'll undoubtedly start. He seems like a prick though.
