He stated that Jake told him he took an extra step trying to get Kennedy flagged. Kennedy hit his shoulder and then Jake got a mild concusion from this helmet hitting the field turf. Love that - taking one for the team.

That could be considered reckless, but I think that's awsome that Jake would have the presence of mind to consider that in the heat of battle and then be willing to suffer the consequences.

The chance of getting knocked out like that is pretty low. I like the intent on Jake's part though I would probably advice against the same move, given the chance. He shows heart, which usually cannot be taught. Using your noggin to not do such a thing can usually be taught.

Kerry Collins has a brain, but plays dispassionate IMO. I am thrilled that Jake plays with his emotion, although I should have made clear that I am hope he uses his brain and get's down next time.

I certainly am not advocating taking on a 250 LBer in the name of emotion that puts our season in jeopardy.
