Palmer #1 in Cincy?

WOrd is Marvin Lewis will name Palmer the #1 QB for the upcoming season. Kitna despite posting good numbers, slipped towards seasons end and is said to be open to reworking his contract if not the starter.

I heard an interview w/ their GM...Kitna is understanding. its not due to his numbers sliding so much as Cincy cant pay a man that much who is that good tom warm the bench....its all a part of Lewis' roll out in stages plan.

Kitna is just a class act, no doubt! He could easily ask to be traded and it would be a win-win, but instead he stays loyal to the organization and states he's willing to take less money to be a back-up...still a win-win.
This is one of those moves that can mentally help a franchise continue to improve. The guys in Cincy now are going to see Kitna going against the financial grain and some will be inclined to take similar action when thier respective contracts come to term. Guys outside the organization are going to wonder what is so great about Cincy to make a guy want to do such a thing and that might peak thier interest.
