OK, here is the scenerio. top 8 go like this

2. Rodgers
3. Johnson
4. Suggs
5. Newman
6. Boller
7. Leftwich (Baltimore)

All gone. IMO, Minnesota either trades their pick or takes Robertson, which is why I had them trading down, so Robertson could fall.

Robertson falls, and Seattle, the Pats, and the Saints are interested in moving up. Seattle offers a 3rd to move down 2 spots, the Pats offer a 3rd and a 6th with the 14th overall, and the Saints offer their second and the 18th overall.

Remember, the farther you trade down, less likely someone will be there you want, but you get more/better picks later.

Which offer do you take? Or do you take a player at 9, and whom?

First choice is Trufant. follow him with best available OT in 2.

Second choice? Hard to say. Not much else that's there that excites me, obviously. Two spots wouldn't get us a whole lot, but it's probably the next choice simply because you get a 3rd without losing a whole lot of room. You could still trade down. Ideally, I'd like to be in the Pats' pick or the Jets', but the trade offer adding the 6th for the additional drop just isn't useful. Maybe that's because I don't find a need to have another 6. Also, there's still that off chance that Trufant makes it two more spots.

If I dropped to 14, who's to say? Steinbach might be there, Witten, Harris might still be there, purely from a need standpoint. There's an off chance Bailey's there. I don't find that Woolfork fits us great, but he's there. 18? There we're probably at a point where we have to reach for an OT. Foster, preferably. Because I don't know what other value's there.

I go to the 11th spot... odds are we still have a guy that we would have taken at 9 there Trufant or Bailey and we have an extra third... and if I wanta get froggy I could package the lower 3rd and my 2nd and get an extra 1st.

We would have lots of options at #18 of similar value to whats going to be available at the Pats or Seattle's pick, and the extra second gets us a nice player also. Harris could fall to 18, maybe Bailey, Witten, or a solid DT also start to look at the WR's Jacobs, Bryant etc.. I just like whats available.

I feel Trufant would be there at 11, the picks at 9 and 10 would be DTs. So that's something to consider. Use that extra 3rd on a guard or something.

So who is going to want to trade for 9 if all those are off the board?... and who do they want that badly?

Seattle, the Pats, and the Saints all need a DT. The Saints are rumored (or Haslett may have acutally said) to be considering a move up for Robertson. With that in mind, perhaps its worth it to others who need DTs to grab the top rated DT, rather than settle for second or third best, or perhaps fourth or fifth in the Saints case.

screw all that. where's the option of trading up to take leftwich? if we let the ravens jump in front for any less than their first 2 picks, i'll never watch the panthers again.

I'd be fairly sure, in that scenerio, that we'd land Trufant at 11, and pick up the third in the proccess. That's my liking.
