Offensive Draft

Denver had one hell of an offensive draft.

Portis and Lelie.

I'm happy with Peppers and wouldn't trade him for both of those guys. I just hope we can pull off an offensive draft as good as Denver's this year.

would rock to see a guy like Lelie come up the charts. Matter of fact, guys like him or Stallworth, with somewhat similar games, would really work here. Woods has the greatest chance of coming up the charts, I guess.

My fear is that we, for the most part, stay put at QB.

I'd rather get a couple rookie starters that produce at RB and WR than a #1 rookie QB that suffers through a 5-11 year. I think I can deal with Peete or another servicable QB if we have some offensive weapons to help him out with.

Weinke must go though. I can't understand how he could be so bad. I've heard talk of Kordel coming to Carolina. I'm not really sold on that either.

Krydell is a real possibility. He might actually work in this offense. Can't get much simplier than the armband.

I do think we will come away with a QB first day. Maybe not round 1, but this is a deep draft for QBs, and with our situation, I don't think we can pass without taking one in the top 100.

Boy Weinke sure stunk it up, AGAIN.

He won't be in the NFL next year.

Mags - I think we'll try to get a long term starter in FA at QB, but I also think Peete might have a shot at holding the spot.

If we had receivers that didn't drop the ball, and a better o-line, and oh yeah a great RB, Peete or any QB would look better.

I guess I'm saying that this Offense isn't necessarily QB driven.

But Weinke sure hasn't done ANYTHING for himself. I was rootin' for him today, just cuz. He sucked. He makes Peete look awesome.

I'd like to see a RB or WR in the first, unless Palmer is there...but I think he's a Bengal if Leftwich doesn't show something extra at the combine.
With the need for depth, we'd even be safe just drafting best available in the first. While not a popular idea, if the QB, RB, or WR we want is gone, get the best of the rest.

Peete really doesn't deserve another shot as of right now, IMO. We need to get a competent QB in here, not just someone old enough to know everything about the game. Need new blood.

I think it'll happen.

I'd like to see 3 new QB's, and if one current guy sticks, I'd like it to be Peete.

Put Fasani on the PS. I don't think he'd start a game in Canada. Or Europe.
