It wouldn't surprise me, but I hope not. I've always liked Goings. He seems to be cut from the same cloth as Hoover.

Nick Goings is a JFG. I learned long ago to never bet against a JFG making it on a JF team.
He does a lot for us. Special teams if we need it, backup H-back if we need it, a few carries if we need it. Hell, he was a more consistent kick returner last year than DW. And depth at running back isn't something we should cut. 5 backs total is a good number.

yeah, I really doubt they'd just drop Goings. The problem is, medically, he takes a lot of concussions for a guy who we pay to just run downfield as a missile and he won't get carries.

Goings, who IMO has one of the biggest hearts on the team and plays like it, is about one head but away from retirement.

Unfortunately, I think he'll be a camp casualty this year. He's not really suited for fullback and we really could use the roster spot for someone more a STs guy. This year, that's all he'll be and Toefield is that, plus a better back. We could use his slot for an extra O-lineman or wideout. I like Nick, but with all the blows to the head he's had, he's almost like a Dan Morgan on the offensive side of the ball. I just hope the team doesn't keep him on any longer just for sentimental sake instead of making the right business decision.

Nice guy, great team player but it's time to move on. We can replace him with someone younger and cheaper imo.

Not much cheaper. I'm pretty sure Goings makes the vet minimum.
