NFL shuts Sapp down.

The NFL is putting an end to Warren Sapp's pregame antics, ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported on Thursday.

The NFL notified the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' general manger Rich McKay on Thursday that Sapp is to cease running through opponent's pregame drills, as he did before last Monday night's home game with the Indianapolis Colts, Mortensen reports.

Sapp's behavior provoked Washington Redskins linebacker LaVar Arrington to threaten retaliation against Sapp on Wednesday if Sapp repeated his antics before the two teams meet this Sunday.

Arrington looked directly into the TV camera on Wednesday and delivered a sharp message to Sapp.

"Sapp," Arrington said, "I'm going to get you."

Sapp laughed after reading Arrington's comments.

"You tell Mr. Can't Get Right, I'll be there at 10:30 a.m. sharp, Eastern Standard Time. Tell him don't be looking for me because I'm easily found," Sapp said, making reference to the difficulty the Redskins had mastering the defense run by former coordinator Marvin Lewis last season.

The NFL also told McKay, who is co-chairman of the competition committee, that Sapp was subject to disciplinary action and that the Bucs would be assessed a 15-yard penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct on the opening kickoff if Sapp continued to interrupt pregame drills, Mortensen reported.

The league also told McKay that if a fight broke out as a result of Sapp's actions, Sapp could be subject to immediate ejection for provocation.

"The league considers Sapp's action as provocative, promoting retaliation, and it's impermissible," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told Mortensen.

Wow. Nice move by the NFL, especially the part about if a fight broke out that it would be purely on Sapp for provoking it. That idiot (the old linebacker, his name escapes me) on NFL Live said that Lavar would be the one who got ejected if a fight happened because of Sapp running through the warm-ups.

Damn, why can't I think of his name? Ever have one of those times when you just draw a blank?

I was about to start a thread on this last night and I got booted off and couldn't get back on (cheap ass ISP). Anyway, I usually type shit up in Word before i post it 'cause I can't spell worth a lick. Below I am going to copy/paste what I typed up last night just for the hell of it:

Maybe the league will simply expect Gruden to convince Sapp not to be pinheaded enough to be baited. Sapp will still probably stand on the 50 for 60 seconds worth of glaring and yappin’. However, I wouldn’t mind if they both got ejected and fined for playing push and shove before the game.<<<<

What did I do? I'll be waiting at 10:30 if he don't show he's a coward.

Never been a skins fan, hate them now, but props to Arrington for calling Sapp's ass out.
