New Cardinals Ballpark-Coming in April 2006

If everything falls into place, the team will open up their new ballpark next to BUSCH STADIUM in 2006 . . . Looks really good :) !!!!!!

Now it's official. The almighty "punch and judy" stadium is gone. But I thought the teams of McGee, Coleman, Oquendo, Smith, Herr, were fun.

punch & judy stadium  ? ? ? Don't you mean cookie cutter (Riverfront looked like Busch, which looked like Three Rivers, which looked like Shea [minus outfield seats], which looked like the Astrodome [w/roof] ? ? )

Sds, I should have written "punch and judy" style baseball, with the huge outfield and the carpet.

I gotcha ya know :) . . . Yep, all the cookie cutter stadiums will be gone by then, except for Shea Stadium (no progress yet on building a new retractable roof ballpark next to Shea in Queens . . It would look like Ebbets Field on the outside)

I can't speak for such dumps as the Olympic dome in Montreal or Tropicana Field but having been to Shea I can absolutely say that is the worst ballpark in baseball.

You can say that easily, since Montreal and Tropicana have no business being professional baseball fields. :D

Hey, Don't Bash Stade Olympique!!!!!

I've been to the 'big Owe' 2 times (Quebec residents are still paying for it, which was the main stadium for the 1976 Summer Olympics). With the dome being permanent now and the hard plastic seats still being in use, you can make a lot of noise by banging them up and down when the Expos are rallying :D:D !!!!!!!!! I think crappy ownership over the last 10-12 years (Claude Brochu & Jeff Loria) is one reason folks don't care about baseball anymore in Ville De Montreal. I think things can be changed, but I think Bud Selig & Co. don't give a flip about the city anymore. As soon as Washington or Portland or ____________ comes up with the cash and plan to build a new ballpark, les Expos will finally be allowed to leave.

Now concerning Shea: That's another ballpark whos time has come. It was the 1st or 2nd ballpark to be designed to host football & baseball (with the lower level seats being moveable). Its in a bad location with LaGuardia Airport being nearby, causing play to be halted several times a game to allow planes to fly over. Hopefully, NYC will come up with the cash to build that new ballpark with the retractable roof soon so the Mets can leave and Shea can be imploded (unless its renovated to bring the Jets back to NY)
