    Panthers Risky Move

    Interesting discussion. Particularly this part:

Do we really have those specific blocks in place?

3 technique is the missing piece
right defensive end: Peppers, and our depth behind him is nice.
explosive three technique:I'm not seeing Kemo doing this, Lewis is obviously on my shit list, Irvin needs development, i don't see that guy on our roster right now.
a will linebacker: Davis certainly has the athletiscism to excel as a tampa 2 WOLB, maybe we see more big plays from him.
a middle backer who can run: covered
left end who can defeat single blocks: Brayton, Johnson and Brown should all be able to do this.

on Davis - I've championed him for a while, but I've heard people say if he moves here or moves there or the sun hits his helmet differently, he'll be so much better. And I don't know. This scheme will let him run a little more but overall I think he's about what he's gonna be.

At the one DT - we've got guys who can penetrate, if that's all they're being asked to do it might work out OK.

I also think that a big part of c2 defense is having two men cover so much ground back there - Harris has played c2 before, and Godfrey is athletic, but there are legit questions as to whether both can cover all that ground mistake-free.

I've never been sold on Davis at LB to be honest. He does a good enough job there that I can't really complain. Still, when they drafted him out of Georgia I had pictures in my head of him playing S and laying people out like Ronnie Lott.
