Bojangles Steve, Jake again

Remember the Bojangles' commercials with Panthers Steve Smith and Jake Delhomme? (The "Dukes Of Chicken" takeoff on the "Dukes Of Hazzard" might be the most memorable.)

Well, they're back in the act, filming new TV spots around town this week.

On Monday, Smith filmed a new commercial at Bank of America Stadium in which the wide receiver leaps into the stands to celebrate a touchdown, discovers a fan's box of chicken, and stays for a while. A few dozen paid actors sat in the stands portraying the crowd. Smith joked with them and seemed to enjoy himself.

"This is my first time back here since the end of the season," Smith mused. "I like doing these spots. They're funny. People like them."

Delhomme is filming a spot this week featuring a genie.

Eric Mower and Associates, an advertising firm, wrote the spots. Villains, a Los Angeles production company, is filming them. They should start airing around July.
