It's hard to say. Minter's been talking extension for literally years now. I think Grant's situation scared him, and who's to say he didn't decline some. So you let him play it out and hope he takes the hint next year if we want him gone.

I gotta assume Mitchell will play the year because of need, and that we'll not give him any money after that, thanks to the scandal.

I can't see giving Mitchell an extension. Wrong message.

Let Minter play out his contract, as you said, and see if he can co-exist with Davis. Davis may play LB, or maybe they can man the S positions together. I know they'e both SSs, but you never know.

I read one review of him, don't remember where ATP that stated if he is playing behind quality CBs he will be fine at FS.

Though it would be a stretch especially for a rook, it seems like he would be ok at FS for running plays and LB for passing downs.

I think Davis plays LB, idea being to bolster the anti-Vick defense.

He could eventually go to SS if Minter sticks till he retires, but I think when they announced him as a linebacker, they meant it.

Theoretically we could re-sign WW and have him move inside, let Morgan walk, and stick Davis at WLB.
