Problem is, did that last year to Cincy and Detroit.
And some of the stuff we're doing, we did after Lamar. And it opened things up - Brown did well with his chances, and Goings fared decent as well.
Hell, some of this stuff we did when we weren't able to play Peete. It's the frustrating thing - seeing us do the right things to win in this type offense but knowing we could have been doing it all along.
Nonetheless, good stuff. Multiple receiver formations, Smith had his usual game and yet we were able to get Moose his, Foster his, and a couple throws elsewhere as well. Without neglecting the run, without having TOP issues, without throwing deep in desperation (well, once).
I never did buy the "we shouldn't try" excuses. We can, we just don't.

Keep in mind that Detroit is not that good. I did not see alot of difference in the game paln from the past few games. We just happened to execute against a poor team. The second half didn't look so good.

I was just happy we threw to someone other than #89 for a change. I almost shit myself when they threw to the RB more than once yesterday.
good stuff. let's do this more often instead of every pass play being a bomb/floating duck into double coverage.

We really kinda did.
More three-receiver and four receiver plans. Since we're not smart about how we use our base formations, that means more routes being run. Certainly, there had to have been more passes overall.
Add in the normal changes to a gameplan that we'd use for Foster rather than Davis (it's good to use the strengths of a back but should we be that predictable changing from Davis to Foster?) and I'd say this isn't the traditional Henning stuff we've seen. Certainly, more overall plays run, sadly.
But yes, Detroit isn't that good.
