>>>Now they've done it: Maser makes voice heard

Near the end of the morning practice, an obviously perturbed offensive line coach Mike Maser began barking at his players, one after another. As Maser moved up the row of guys standing on the sideline, one veteran kneeling behind it made as if to get up and escape to the other side. That prompted another vet to holler, "Hey, where you going?" at his buddy. The answer was obvious: To get out of the line of fire.

Asked about his eruption later, Maser said, "These guys get paid a lot of money, you know? They're running around with my paycheck in their mouth, and I'm not going to let them screw it up.

"That's my style. That's the way I am; that's the way I've always been. Some days I won't say a word; other days I'll lose it. It just depends on what ticks me off.

"If we've been working on something and working on something and talking about it, and then when it presents itself we don't execute it, now that's when I get ticked off." -- STAN OLSON <<<<<<

Do you suppose he’s especially trying to light a fire under Brzezinski, Claridge, and Tuten with that “these guys get paid a lot of money” remark? As I remember those three career subs aren’t exactly cheap right now and he’s probably frustrated because from all I can gather they aren’t stepping up so far. Those three in particular need to evolve into starting caliber players at some point this season. Until they show signs of heading that direction I bet Maser continues to bust blood vessels.

If he can't whip them into shape I'm sure that no one can. Kick ass Mike!

I have read that those guys haven't been terrible. That's not intended to mean that they are all-pros either. I have read that Willig has been getting destroyed filling in for Meadows. That doesn't say a whole lot about our depth, or does it?
