Magic 96.1

ClearChannel has decided to ditch the oldies format along with Shaefer and the Eggman. Tuned in this morning for some classic hits from the 60's and 70's only to find "brother tunes" blasting out from the re-named 96.1 "The Beat"..........dont we have enough of these stations around here? I hope they shit and fall back in it. BOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Magic 96.1 was a part of Charlotte for years, I'm 24 years old and don't EVER remember anything else at that frequency, I gotta believe somebody is gonna have to pick up the Oldies format for Charlotte. If you look at ratings across the board, Oldies is usually #2 in ratings behind Country and a market as big as Charlotte is, I can't image there being no Oldies station.

That sucks, where will I get to hear those tunes for the 3000th time? I hope I dont forget the words to "My Girl". Charlotte lost a Hip Hop station last Spring, and I really think they needed another. The only existing Hip Hop station that I could get played too much R&B. If there are all those Country and all those Classic Rock stations, you have to admit there should be a few Hip Hop stations due to its popularity.
