Just had to remind y'all of this quote......

After Duke’s demolition of UNC a month ago, Tar Heel senior Kris Lang stunned everyone within earshot with a strange statement.

"Talent level? Actually, I have to say I think we have more talent," Lang said. "We have more depth. It’s just a matter of experience for us."

When told of the quote earlier this week, Duke junior Dahntay Jones and sophomore Chris Duhon decided to leave it alone.

"To each his own. If that’s what he thinks, that’s what he thinks," Jones said. "But I guess we’re just putting our talent together well."

Said Duhon: "If that’s what he feels, that’s what he feels. I’m not going to go into any grudge match or say something. I’m not going to comment on that."

and your point would be ...

What?

that duhon and Jones are two such outstanding young men to not engage in a trash talking contest with Kris Lang?

that Kris Lang ( and Jason Capel ) both got hit by the same ignorant stick?

that UNC is gonna kick dooks butt in 2003?

that Jason Williams is gonna airball the game tying freethrows in the final four?

what, sly, what?

I really don't have a point other than the one on my head. For some reason at about 6PM yesterday though I had the incredible urge to repost this quote. Being drunk and giddy though, I decided to wait until this morning.

All I know is that Jawad Williams better get suspended for taking a poke at Christensen. Doesn't matter that he didn't connect.

And this blast on Carolina fans....
Big Brother Jeff defends Jason Capel
Note: This message was posted by Jeff Capel on the InsideCarolina.com message board on 2/13/02 in response to UNC fans' criticism of his brother. It is a testament to the kind of fans that follow UNC basketball. As pitiful as Jason is, Tarheel fans are even moreso.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I had vowed that I would not look at this board anymore. Obviously, this has been a really tough season for all people that love/like Carolina baskteball. It is NOT tougher on you than it is on the current players, but sometimes, adults do not act like adults. It is very easy for some to get on these boards and post things about players, coaches, and their dislike of them. I say it is easy because you can hide behind some fake name, and the person that you are talking about will probably never know who you are. Actually, I think this is the act of a coward, but hey, that is just my opinion.

Anyway, the reason why I am writing is because there have been some things said here that are very disturbing to me and I felt compelled to write and voice my opinion. Jason Capel is my brother. I've posted several things on this board before, but this will be the last time I ever post again. I am not writing this on Jason's behalf, he doesn't even know I'm doing this. I am writing about the things that some of you are saying about my brother. This has been a very frustrating year for him, both on and off the court. The on the court stuff is obvious. He hates losing as much as anyone. More than that, he hates that Carolina is losing and the tradition that has been established over the years is being tarnished. Sure, he know's that he is not having a good year individually. He had expectations of his team, and himself that have not gone the way he envisioned them. He has not made an excuse or asked for any sympathy. More importantly, in the past month, some things have happened off the court that are certainly more important than a game, or any record. He had his second concussion, and missed 3 games. Sure, some of you probably think the team was better without him, but he missed being there and trying to help the team win. Secondly, last Monday, our grandmother died. That was a big blow to our whole family, and especially Jason.

Some of you are so insensitive that its sad. I ask you this. IF you are so bold and believe so much in the comments that you make, go up to Jason and say these things. Go up to him in person and tell him that he @#%$, that you'll be glad when he leaves, that he is a cancer to your beloved Tar Heels. When I have attended UNC games this year, the fans have been absolutely WONDERFUL! Their support has been incredible. I know what these guys are going through. Some of you selfish a$$holes act like it hurts you more than the guys on the team. You are a pathetic people. Imagine if you lost a loved one, and everyone knew. Imagine going to your job everyday and having someone critique everything you do, talk about how much you @#%$, they can't wait for your last day. How would that make you feel? How would that make your family feel to read these things, to hear people saying these things about the person that they care about and love? You have an idiot, and absolute moron in Adam Gold saying things about one of YOUR guys, but you don't do anything about it (I know some of you did). Why is that? Because of some SUPPOSED rift with Jason and Joe? You all took everything the media fed you and ran with it. Jason and Joe are friends. Still are. They talked to each other last week. What else is it? Oh yeah, the role player comment. What is wrong about that? All he is saying is that he is a player, don't limit him to a specific title. Coach always told us that he would not give us a specific postion, like you're a 2, and you're a 3. He wanted us to be players, not robots. Basically, that's the same thing, but you so called UNC "fans" have taken this comment and ran with it. Man, this is one of YOUR guys, a Carolina guy that you all are KILLING.

I do agree with some of you on one thing though. I will be so GLAD when he is gone from there. He is a player that has never been appreciated, that has sacrificed himself for the love of the program and has given his all to UNC. To bad all of UNC has not returned the favor.

Raymond Felton is a very good basketball player. He's the best high school player I saw this past summer. But I sure hope he has some heavy shoulders, and very thick skin. He's gonna have to, because you all will turn on him one day, just like you did my brother.

By the way, this is JEFF. I will be happy to talk to any of you one on one. I am not hiding behind some false identity. If you have something to say to me, then try not to be a coward and hide behind some false name. Be man enough to talk to me.

Moderator's Note: Yes, this is Jeff Capel. I just spoke with him on the phone to verify. He orginially posted his email address and I just took it down so people don't bug the heck out of him as work. - michelle

well, nobody ever said jeff wasn't a moron either. And, i think we all know what "WYDD" stands for. So, i'm sure he can find me!!

We are not pitiful fans! We care very much about our program. And no matter what his brother says, Jason has done, and said things that are not in the best interest of UNC bball. I do not doubt that JC loves and bleeds UNC bball. I do question his brain sometimes though. A prime example of this happened during yesterdays game when UNC was down by 500 points and Capel is asking Duke's bench if there is anyone on there that can guard him. That is very unsportsmanlike - and I hate it. I understand that Jeff wants to come to his brothers defense, as I would for my sybling, but the fact is that Jason has created this for himself. UNC fans are very upset about this year and we want to blame somebody. Frankly, Jason has made himself a very easy target.
