Kennedy released by Lions

Kannoy Kennedy was released by the Lions in their continued purge. I read up on his bio and was a pupil of John Lynch and grew up admiring Steve Atwater. Thoughts on bringing him in for a look-see and potentially signing him for a veteran minimum? Since we lost out on the stocked safety class last year and the lack thereof in this year's draft, it couldn't hurt.

We've already got a younger version of him (minus the dirty play) in Chris Harris.

We really need an opposite of Kennedy, someone with range. We already have a hitter w/ Harris. For cheap, I suppose he'd be good depth and maybe even a boost on special teams.

Probably better than Deke Cooper but not ideal.

Is he free? We definitely need range, but shit, I wont lie, the thought of having those guys out on run downs (Harris and Kennedy) is really nice....but theres a reason a bad defense is letting him go.
