The way I see it....

I want Detroit to beat Minnesota. I'm not concerned about Detroit squeaking in so much. I would like to see as many teams fall back to us as possible. Any time an NFC team plays and AFC team, you cheer AFC on. That's why we needed the Seattle loss. It brings more teams back into the fold. And I know either STL or SEA get a divisional title, but the Seattle loss might propel them into a tailspin into 7-9

If all these games hold up, here's how it will look:

1-Phil
2-ATL
3-GB

Then....

4-Sea 7-7
5-Minn 7-7 (assuming DET wins)
6-STL 6-7
7-Car 6-8
8-Det 6-8

It's complicated, I know. And I understand the short-term benefit of a Detroit loss.....but I would like to see 2 spots open up for an 8-8 team in the wildcard.

Bottom line: we win out against two team we have owned lately and our record will be 8-8, with a conference record of 7-5, not to mention head-to-head tiebreaker adv against STL, TB, and NO (assuming we win out and the head-to-head is applicable) That will be hard to beat.

But we didn't, and the beauty is that we still control our own destiny.

We win out, we get to 8-8, with a conf record of 7-5. I am 99.9% sure that those two factors will get us in.

that tiebreaker is the recrd vs common opponents. it will probably not be a factor because i think it requires at least 4 games so the next tiebreaker comes into play...which i think is strength of victory. that is where we might have problems.
