Is there any proof that Jesus existed?

He is risen

If by archealogical proof you mean His bones, then no, because He is risen! But it is widely accepted that He lived and was crucified, by believers and non believers alike. Scholars and historians that is. The debate has always been over the fact of whether He rose from the dead and ascended into Heaven and is at the right hand of God.

Other than writings, what kind of archeological proof are you thinking?

perhaps writings of neutral sources. the romans, for example, had run-ins with him. perhaps records of his imprisonment and execution. it's a longshot and so lack of any evidence doesn't mean much.

we learn a lot about history based on the writings of scholars. how many scholars of the time write about jesus?

i understand the josephus stuff is believed to have been tampered with. the others don't really write about jesus, they write about christians.

As I was randomly surfing the internet I came across serveral articles about the James Ossuary. When it came out it was said that it was "the first archaeological proof" that Jesus existed. Well, it's probably a fake. So where does that leave us?
