We would trade down with Philly in the 1st rnd in exchange for one of their 2nd rnd picks. We then take:

1st - G (Elton Brown or David Baas, no other)
2nda - S Michael Huff
2ndb - OT Rob Pettiti
3rd - SS (If he slides: Jammal Brimmer)
4th - LB (Best avail, of course)
5th - WR (One of those diamond in the rough, TE-sized hybrids)
6th - C

Is there a better scenario? I'd love to hear them.
 
I think OT is the greater need over OG. If we bracket our OG's with better talent, it will mask thier short comings.
Of course, I am all for grabbing Pettiti, though! :xyzthumbs
I also don't see SS as that great a need. Put someone behind Minter that is more talented than Branch and Mike will rebound, I think. FS is the greater need there.
With what you have, I'd go with Brodney Pool over Huff, and maybe Andrew Whitworth in the first (should he come out)...then there goes the need for Pettiti.

Maybe this:

3rd - DT Luis Castillo
4th - WR Geoff McArthur
5th - RB Noah Herron

Well, a nicer balance than mine....
Yep. I see your point about Whitworth. No doubt Pool would be a very good FS, but Huff is just more athletic and a little faster and can also play the corner position.
Scott would probably make a nicer guard, than center which is OK. Really love your 3rd, but would you pass up a guy like QB Alex Smith, if avail, for a non-need position? (God forbid something happens to Jake on our run to the SB next season! But I guess same could be said about Jenkins :nono: )

Also, not sold on Minter. Last I read on this forum was that his eye/vision was the cause of many of his problems. If that is resolved then I'm all for keeping him here next season.
McArthur? Hmm...There should be a few here with more upside & KR/PR ability...let's wait for the combine on this one.
Don't know anything about Noah or Hall, but I don't think we have a 7th anyway (due to Fordham trade).

Yeah I'm not sure why everyone's going with the guard. It's a very small need in comparison - you can have some competition but neither Reyes nor Wharton are hurting us that badly. A free agent tackle and a midrounds guard is good stuff, but doesn't make guard the necessity.

Overall, Philly's guaranteed the 30th pick or lower. DOn't know that I want to drop 15 spots.

To get Philly's 1st & early 2nd rndr, (34th pick overall?) whether or not we go with a guard, to go along with our own 2nd rounder smells like a sweet deal to me.

Also, as a power running team don't we want to go from not 'hurting us that badly' to being mentioned as a 'dominant' group? :huh:
