Does anyone have any knowledge of how the quarterbacks looked in practice today? Also, is anyone outside of the local sports reporters picking up that Weinke may have actually came ready to play this time?

Man, I'm itching for info, and I can't wait for the first preseason game!!!

I heard Weinke is definitely ready to play this year & has had some great practices. I hope so.

Weinke's passes were very crisp in the Sunday afternoon practice. Delhomme looked good too. Foster ran the ball a few times in 7 on 7. Very excited to see that. Hopefully, the majority of Weinke's problems were his shoulder and being fully committed to learning last year's new offense, and he woke up and decided to do everything possible to be ready. We could be in awesome shape even when Peete decides to retire and Delhomme's 2 years are up. We're definitely due for a run of good luck, hopefully it starts with Foster being healthy.

Weinke looked the best in my opinon but, he wasn't going against the first team(atleast when I was watching)- I also didn't see Foster take any snaps in the 7 on 7 but, I left a little earlier than I wanted too.

I agree with the idea that QB development is an ongoing process but I disagree that there's a year "x" where they're developed. It's an interesting idea, though, the five year hump, and I can believe it's a realistic trend. Makes you wonder what McNabb will look like when he rounds that corner.

As far as Weinke, I'll have to see him against real foes in preseason so he can exorcise his man-coverage demons, but if he's got confidence in his arm again he's going to be something different to deal with suddenly. Second year in the offense certainly does help, having an offseason to work on things with your QBs coach does help I'm sure, and probably leads back to my conclusion that a young QB would not be getting the development in practice he'd need. If Weinke worked himself back to starting, then he'd get a lot more attention, so that at least leads some hope into the idea that Delhomme as the starter would get some positive tweaking.

If you're a diehard FSU fan, I can understand, if not ... why this strong loyalty to Winky? At the end of the day, I think he is a waste of a roster spot. I imagine I could very well eat crow where the Winkster is concerned... but being right or wrong really has no bearing for me when judging the success rate of NFL players... I've never met or read from anyone that was right about evey player. Typically I have a good eye for it.

I would much rather be wrong about Winky and see him lead this team to the playoffs than I would be right about him and see him waste a roster spot. I want whats best for the team. I want the best QB to be better than any we have had (Not that it would be difficult to stake that claim)... but I'm not like pulling for Winky, as a Panther fan, he really has not done anything to earn respect or loyalty.
