>>Then explain why the running game was better with Nick Goings than with DeShaun Foster.
It wasn't. Goings has averaged 3.7 yards per carry during his career, while Foster has averaged 4.0.
>>Explain why the run defense was better with old Brentson Buckner and hog farmer Jordan Carstens in the middle than with Kris Jenkins and Maake Kemoeatu.
The linebackers are worse.
>>Explain why Jake Delhomme made so many plays when people were wondering how to pronounce his name, and why he can't convert a third down now that he's a Pro Bowler.
That's more difficult to explain. He's always had poor mechanics, and I don't know if they're necessarily that much worse than they used to be.
>>There wasn't room for them (Bush, Cramer, Adams), not with so many high picks, money men, intriguing prospects and respected elders.
Sure there was. Cut McCadam, Hankton, and Ciurciu.
>>Maybe what they're missing the most are leaders.
That's actually kind of interesting, although Delhomme is sort of a leader on offense. We don't really have one on defense now unless you count Minter, and I'm not sure he's the take charge type more than just an exhorter.
