Can you imagine the terror he would be if he played with the same effort and desire that Steve Smith does?

Anyone who questions Peppers' effort and desire is simply ignorant (no surprise, given the author of the thread). He has always had the heart and the drive, he's simply lacking in technique. That and not having Jenkins or at least someone who can put any pressure at all inside makes life very difficult for a defensive end.

Hasselbeck actually broke Pep's ankles on a run yesterday, which is kinda disturbing. But I don't think he takes plays off. And I don't think that you can force every guy on your team to be like one guy. He just need to get a little better with his technique, and be more consistant at beating guys off the edge. His run stopping abilities have progressed, though you could argue that he's been pretty good at that all along.

I guess considering he had broken ankles he played pretty well.

I've not really found many complaints in my mind about what Julius has done. And while I'm sure tons of people over the offseason will suggest things like cutting Rucker, drafting a replacement, and so on, I don't have a problem with him either. We're getting good play out of those guys.

There's an email list I subscribe to, but only occasionally pay attention to. There's a couple guys on there that, anytime Peppers doesn't have at least a sack, he's the reason we lost.

If Delhomme played like Montanna and Goings played like Walter Payton....

Then the score woulda been worse. I mean, Joe looks pretty out of shape in those Fed Ex commercials and Walter....well..... he's dead Jim.

No offence to any poster here but Peppers demeanor is an asset to him. If he were as volatile as Smith he would have killed someone or been tossed out of a game. Restraint ain't that bad of a thing. People know that Peppers is the real deal and they don't need a frothing idiot like Ray Lewis to know he is on the field
