I need a quick answer

I keep getting an error message on a few sites saying that I have javascript or cookies disabled in my browser and it won't let me sign in to the site. I've checked my internet options and I have java enabled, I don't see a prompt or option for cookies. I was going to try to reinstall IE6, but when I try, I get this error message even when the browser is closed, I have rebooted several times and changed settings and still can't sign in or reinstall IE6. Any ideas?

WARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Thanks, but this didn't work. There is no PendingFileRenameOperations value in that part of the registry, I did a search on the whole registry and it wasn't anywhere.

Try this.

If you cannot view a Web site that contains Java programs, but can view other Web sites that contain Java programs, follow these steps to resolve the issue:

1. Click Start, click Run, type control inetcpl.cpl, and then click OK.
2. For Internet Explorer 3.x, on the Advanced tab, click to clear the Enable Java JIT Compiler check box, and then click OK. For Internet Explorer 4.x, 5.x, and 6, on the Advanced tab, click to clear the JIT Compiler for virtual machine enabled (requires restart) check box, and then click OK.
3. Restart Internet Explorer and then visit the Web site that exhibited the problem, and test to determine whether the issue has been resolved.

Yeah, I finally figured it out myself, the sites I was trying to go to were listed as always block in my privacy settings for some reason. Maybe Spybot did it.

I still don't know why I'm getting that weird error message when I try to reinstall IE6 though. Every time I reboot it says setup is updating my my configuration files even though I don't download or run any new programs. Weird.
