A true christian will not be a continual adulterer. He may committ adultery but if God does not convict him of the sin in his life to the extent that he eventually makes a change then he can not have accepted Christ in the first place.

Actually, he should be put to death according to Leviticus 20 "'The man who commits adultery with another man's wife, even he who commits adultery with his neighbor's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.

I believe this is the same set of laws often used to support capital punishment.

Old Testament...although I do agree that adultery is a sin in the eyes of God and that one must repent (change and remain changed) of his (her) ways if he (she) is to truly serve the Lord. The New Testament speaks directly to us about such things.

VI, I agree with what you say. I'm just tired of folks using Leviticus and the Old Testament to support one argument when the same book contradicts something they say elsewhere.

What's the difference in being an adulterer and being a Christian than being a liar? Or murderer? Or thief? All of these have at some time professed to be Christian, especially people on Death Row who "find" God after their crime, or claim to anyway.

You can break any of the commandments, and if you become saved and confess your sins and repent and feel true remorse and accept Jesus, supposedly you will still be accepted into heaven. Or that's the way I understand it. There are also degrees of judgment.Nobody's perfect all the time - everybody sins every day.

I'm no expert on it by any means, but that's my take on it.
