Martin Gerber shuts out the NY Islanders in the second game of a home and home series by a 3-0 score. Brind'Amour, Whitney and Stillman each scored goals in the 2nd period to beat the Islanders for the second straight night.

The Hurricanes are now 13 points up on the Tampa Bay Lightning who lost earlier in the day and they are 8-1-2 in their last 10 games.
