I actually went back to charlotte.com for a minute. I found this:

"I just got back from a coaching clinic where the Virginia staff was speaking, and Ted Musgrave was there talking about quarterbacks. He started talking junk about different qbs. He showed game film of B-line. He also said that they worked out Brady at the combine and Seifert really wanted to get him, but they finally decided not to because Musgrave was scared of his 5.3 40."

Good call. Tom Brady right now wouldn't be bad.

I saw that too, mags.

There was a speculation later in the thread that I'd agree with - and that's that Brady would have likely struggled in Seifert's system.

Say what you want about the Panthers talent level, I say we could've won a handful of games if it weren't for the horrific playcalling.

Those preseason games and the Vikings game we ran and ran the frickin ball, and Weinke stretched the field.

I think we'll be pretty good at that.

I don't think Brady would have struggled in the WCO. he fits the idea of the WCo much more than, say Weinke, Lewis, Bledsoe.

Now if you put him in with a Williamson offense, I don't see anyone ever being successful in that. That's why I lobbied for a year to get a new OC.

And as WP reminds me, the guy misnamed him "Ted" musgrave. We're talking Bill. Ted's a good guy though, did some sand blasting for his 59 Ford.

I went back to charlotte.com for a minute too and this is the diamond in the rough that I found:

"Hey guys, if the Panthers were a flavor of ice-cream what do you think it would be?"

Okay I'm kidding but similar content there is NOT out of the question you know. )

what about...

...and the weekly new thread bitching about the uniforms... ughh... give it a rest people! be thankful we aren't the Bills! (have you seen that redesign? Yikes!)

yeah. The thread content there is always top notch. or something.

"Gee fellas, let's take our new $50 million dollar end and put him at a position with a high injury rate and lowest possible pay scale, fullback. It'll be fun."
I'm just surprised no one's suggested we run the option using Peppers as the quarterback.

*picture a guffawing smiley face here*

I saw that one too. I had to imagine that he was just kidding to keep myself from posting a really scathingly sarcastic reply. One day I’ll snap over there

So where is that guy that wanted to move the Cleveland Cavaliers to Charlotte?
