This is what I like to call a silver lining on the cloud of this season.

I know Pro Bowl players are not choosen based on a single stat and there is a particularly strong popularity element that comes into play.

Question: which team has sent the most players in any given year to the Pro Bowl from the same element of the team (ie Defensive Line, Offensive Line, Linebacking Core)?

I think we sent all three starters at LB in 96' (Mills, Greene, and Barrow)

Well, if Rucker and Peppers don't make it, there's something seriously amiss -

in the NFC, they are both in the top 10 in sacks, forced fumbles, combined tackles, and passes defended.

And that's both DT and and DE's.

I personally don't see any reason why those three shouldn't go, and shouldn't start for the NFC. I can't think of any NFC defensive end offhand that is dominating more than Pep and Rucker. It may be a race between Rucker and Andre Carter, but if Pep continues to play the way he's playing, he'll have it locked up--along with defensive ROTY, of course. Maybe even NFL ROTY.
