With my sassy new cam... I am looking for a good computer to process and store large pic files. This one seems bare-bones as far as software goes... but is it ok for said usage?

You need the P4 definitely, but the memory and hard drive space seem low for your purposes (unless you plan to dump all images off the DVDs all the time, which can be a pain). You're getting the 8.3 mp camera, right? That equals LOTS of storage space.

Intimidator is right that a true barebones system can be built for much less, but the question is finding someone who will offer to do it.

front panel has analog video in

17" LCD flat panel monitor
2.1 flat panel speakers w/ subwoofer
remote control for pwer cinema software
Multimedia keyboard
logitech optical mouse..
loaded with software...
$899 even... was that a decent deal ?


I have 1 sitting in my floor at home with a p4 , 2.8 ghz , 1024 gb ram(2 sticks of 512) , 160 gb hard drive... DVD Burner and CD Burner ,, without monitor for $575 and its in a silver case with clear side and lighted fans... 450 watt power supply...and i'll load it with whatever software you want...

and if my memory is correct , the DVD burner is an HP costing like $149 before the rebate ...
