Getting Increased Reps
by Staff of NFLInsider.com, November 17, 2004 at 7:17am ET

Chris Weinke Profile

QB Chris Weinke will get increased reps this week with Jake Delhomme resting his broken thumb. There's still a chance Weinke could start jump ahead of Rodney Peete on the depth chart and start against Arizona if Delhomme doesn't play.

yeah, I think in the middle of a game, I'd rather have Peete come in relief...but to get the start, I'd choose Weinke...

It is a tough call. Talent wise I will give Weinke the edge every time. But man I just have never got any impression from any source that this guy has one ounce of leadership ability. And with the patchwork offensive line we have, leadership and motivation I think is the primary way to stay alive. I think this is Jake's greatest asset.

But Peete is just so old, slow and damn if he gets it things will get ugly....

As much as we have to rely on the passing game these days, I don't see how Delhomme can go with a broken thumb. Just hope that Weinke is ready.
Favre threw 30 TD passes with a broken thumb, and from all accounts, this injury isn't that bad. It's not like it's Kurt Warner or anything.

Jake's thrown one TD with it already.
Yeah, I should amend my "it's not like he's Kurt Warner" statement to include "it's not like he had to leave the game." :laugh1:

sometimes an injury will make you concentrate better...Jake just might come out and have a career day
