i like the $ amount, but don't ever recall a suspension were the following week a guy was punished for a half or quarter of a game . . . wtf

Really, have the balls to suspend him for a game or dont bother. That one series shit is weak.

fairly sure it was his shouting at Petrino, plus the pair of unsportsmanlike penalties that gave the Panthers 30 of their 80 yards on that drive...I don't think Petrino was ticked about the PI call that gave up another 37 yards on the drive.

It would have to be something he said to the coach or something that happened in the locker room. I doubt they can fine a player for getting penalties. I think the union would explode over that.

Hall wasn't pleased with the decision and plans to appeal through the NFL Players Association.
The Falcons (0-3) acted quickly after their defensive star was called for three penalties totaling 67 yards on one possession, including two personal fouls, and then got into a heated sideline confrontation with coach Bobby Petrino and an assistant.
The penalties led to a Carolina touchdown that tied the game at 17 in the third quarter. The Panthers went on to a 27-20 victory.
Asked if he thought the punishment was fair, Hall said, "I don't think so. They think so, but I don't think so. My agent is working on it with the union and hopefully we can get something worked out."
