Otah: let's allow him to heal, but yes, no fun in 2010 for him. Still dominant. Go watch some games from 2008.

Brown: I still believe he'll find his groove. He needs one more off-season of conditioning. I would like to see him add another 10-15 lb.

Armanti: Yea. No results. It's a disappointment thus far, but yet again, if you're not willing to be a little creative and utilize him, we'll never know. Have a feeling Schotty Jr, if he gets the gig, will utilize him somewhat like he's used Brad Smith.

Fox is ultra-conservative with his roster spots, in case you haven't noticed. In his view, Devin Thomas is more game ready than AE, despite Thomas showing nothing but injuries thus far.

We've bombed on many picks. Corvey Irvin still pisses me off, particularly with our need at DT, but looking back at the draft in 09, nothing but a bunch of turd DT's in round 3 and 4.

I held the opinion that LT should have been the pick that year, probably could have traded down too, but was very much against the Stewart pick. Sometimes he made it look good but as Goodsen and other backs around the league have shown, you can do pretty well with a later round RB as your #2.

The Brown deal, hated it then, haven't really been proven wrong.

Edwards, I didn't have a clue we'd be so bad as to make that such a costly trade and wasn't that opposed to it given I never expected much from him this year (we got far less than I expected). As to the player on his own merits outside of the context of what we gave up, he could still turn out to be an asset.

What's troubling about Edwards is consistent with what's been wrong with other high-round picks (Shelton, Ellison, Irvin). Again, I'm not there, but this team has pulled the plug on too many 2nd and 3rd rounders, IMO, entirely too soon.

Edwards, at 1-9, should be on the field. I don't buy that he knows less about the position (WR), or the playbook, than Devin Thomas or David Clowney do. And even if he's not 100% ready, um, that's what playing is all about--learning. Making mistakes, and correcting them.

Until AE is allowed to be a part of the process, then there's no way to know how great, good, average, bad, or terrible he can be. All I know is Ellison went on to play a good many snaps for Jacksonville as a starter, and Evan Mathis, at one point, was starting at G for the Bengals.

It is not fair to AE to expect him to be a WR. That is not where he has had the most success. It may not be fair to play him at QB now and expect the player you saw at Appalachian. He has not been given the chance to succeed at the position where he has proven success.

I've said it a million times but again why would you trade a higher draft pick for a player you are going to swap his natural position to another? You can't afford to miss on 1st and second rd picks so often and hope to keep your job. It's one thing to draft a OL man and he not materialize but to try to change someone doesn't make sense, to me anyway. Hurney has made a living on late round finds like Munerlyn, Gettis only to have moves up for players (Brown and Edwards) suck. Maybe someone can draft the first 3 rds and let Hurney pick rds 4-7

Regardless of why what was done, the guy who made these picks, picks that you HAVE to hit on, is apparently not on the hot seat.

so - should we expect more of this?
