Gross v Kerney

Or a chance to convince our management to let him walk.

If we are going to spend big money on an offensive lineman I would rather get a guy who is proven like Max Starks.

you do know Starks isn't starting right Thelt? He's hardly proven.
Thelt doesn't know anything about anything, but that has never stopped him from talking. Usually he just copies something someone else said (probably even thinking he came up with it himself).

I have to give you a purpose in life so you will not kill yourself.

Starks is an interesting prospect, and it'd be interesting to try him at guard if we went toward a power offense again (you know, a power offense that uses the right linemen). But I have no idea why everyone knows his name and Jake Long's. Long might be hyped to all fucking hell, but at least he's a guy who'll definitely start. I don't want to single Thelt out for it, for one because the NFL fanbase at large has been seen drooling over Starks as an alternative, and two, because he's tackle-happy, but Starks isn't a guy you pour tons of money into.

Gross is more proven. He's given up a lot less sacks. Starks is a huge guy you'd like to be the prototype huge RT, but I'll have to see him perform better to see it happen. Until then, I'm worried that his two years starting netterd 16 sacks. That's not catastrophic, but it's a fair amount.

Since it was brought up, Gross has brought one sack in all year. Wharton has settled down since I posted that he had 7 sacks, and hasn't given up any in a few weeks. Hartwig has given up a mystifying 5 already. He typically doesn't line up directly against a lineman, so that doesn't make any sense. Kalil gave up 3, two of which were against Houston. Wahle has given up 4. That's about twice his normal. Bridges gave up 4 so far. More sacks up the middle than necessary, though some of that's been pocket presence.
