Gross has agreed, but not signed...his agents will look over contract language and Gross should be on the field in the morning. 5 year deal with an option for 2 more (7 in all)....AP reports 14 million total with 10 mil. in bonuses. Info not credited to AP came from GM Marty Hurney in phone conversation tonight.

Two days of marathon negotiations ended at about 8:30 p.m., when the Panthers and Gross' agent, Ethan Lock, agreed to a seven-year deal that could be worth as much as $38.5 million.
The Panthers, though, still hadn't reached a deal with second-round choice Bruce Nelson, who if he doesn't reach an agreement before the start of training camp's first practice at 9:10 this morning will become the third rookie holdout in franchise history.

The Carolina Panthers have agreed to terms with first-round draft choice Jordan Gross on a five-year contract with an option for two more, general manager Marty Hurney announced Friday night. The tackle did not allow a sack during his final two seasons at Utah.
The eighth overall selection in the 2003 NFL Draft, Gross (6-4, 300 pounds) was a consensus All-America, finalist for the Outland Trophy and All-Mountain West Conference first-team choice as a senior in 2002 after starting all 11 games in his first full season at left tackle and not allowing a sack for the second consecutive season. As a junior in 2001, he started at three different positions for the Utes as a member of an offensive line that gave up just five sacks and tied Miami for the fewest sacks surrendered in the country.
"I think, organizationally, any time you get your first rounder in on time, it sets a good tone." Hurney said. "The other way is when he is not here. That sets a bad tone and serves as a distraction. Obviously, we are counting on Jordan to play this year. For him to get in here and learn and not miss anything is important, especially on the offensive line."
While there are still a few details to be worked out, Hurney expects Gross to sign in time to participate in the Panthers first training camp practice Saturday morning.
Gross becomes the seventh of the Panthers eight draft picks to sign or agree to terms with the team. Only offensive lineman Bruce Nelson, Carolina's second-round draft choice from Iowa, remains unsigned.
"We made an offer that we thought was a very market-value offer to try and get him in here and we just didn't get it done," Hurney said.

Good to have Gross on board. A little higher than I expected, Williams "only" got 8 million. Looks like he might have took a little chunk of Nelson's money in the process.
