cept for the co-rookies. Ovechkin is the complete package... in a class by himself. If he were on a good team, he'd have outstripped any and all rookies. Don't think I could say the same for Crosby.

I wasn't saying Crosby should have it, there was no doubt that Ovechkin should get it(but Crosby put up a beatiful run at the end of the season). Gretzky couldn't be commissioner because he is too much of a politician always trying to make everybody happy. It's why he didn't have the balls to pick someone for the Calder. Being that way was great for his image and hockey's image all these years, but it's who he is now. He wouldn't be able to shed it and do what was needed to be successful. And he would ban fighting, what a fucking wuss.

With the way things were going financially they needed someone that was going to be all for the ownership. And isn't that pretty much always the way it is in every sport? On a semi-related note- heard the cap was most likely going up this year-I'm thinking the number I heard was 49 mil, what was it this year again?
