We need to set up a mock draft on the board. We'll need 16 (one AFC/one NFC team per) GM's. Pick a date, a time, and how many rounds we want to go. To keep every one from fighting over being the Panther GM, I nominate our Fearless Leader Larry D take the reigns, but here's the little twist, we're going to high/low the team pairings with the draft order.

1.Team pairings will be as follows:

A.Bengals/Eagles-The Brain
B.Lions/Raiders-T Schroll
C.Texans/Bucs-LitterBox999
D.Bears/Titans-Budman
E.Cowboys/Steelers-Xcaliber
F.Cards/Colts-PantherPaul
G.Vikings/Jets-Lex
H.Jags/Packers-Wp28
I.Panthers/Browns-Larry D
J.Seahawks/Broncos-PantherMills
K.Ravens/49ers-Magnus
L.Rams/Patriots-Piper
M.Redskins/Dolphins-Toll Booth Willie
N.Bills/Giants-Reznor
O.Chargers/Falcons
P.Chiefs/Saints-McFly

Work in teams if you like, but the pairings will not be changed. I'll post a poll to determine how many rounds we'll go and await the results tomorrow. We'll base the draft on the present draft order(post season results won't skew it that much). Trades can be done and are encouraged (but must be realistic in their value). I'll take the Lions/Raiders (Boo you want to help?)combo off the board the rest are open.

I call Bengals, Eagles!!!! I'd suggest we all get AOL IM too so we can all talk trades etc during our draft... I was gonna post something about this myself but the board broke before I could... but we need to wait until after Jan. 15 when all the underclassmen are declared

We could set up a chat room instead (don't we still have access to one here?) of the instant messenger. That way we can debate the actual value on trades. Post what you are offering and what you expect in return and we can determine whether the value is there. I do agree on waiting until the underclassmen declare though.

no the reason I say that is if we're playing GM... we need to have a few one on one convo's too... say I want to trade a pick etc. and I want to see what 2 different guys are willing to give me... we all can get AOL and do a full chat PLUS do individual messages as well

I agree that you that you can and should negociate in private, but my point is that the trade must be realistic. With your Bengals pick, if you're going to trade the number one overall, the value in return is going to be different if you are dropping three slots as opposed to six or seven slots. Do your deal in private, then let the rest of us know what it is before pulling the trigger. I'd say the trading teams don't have any input on validating the value, but if seven of the remaining fourteen say it's fair value, the trade stands. we can use the pm's here to negociate trades and a chat room to vote on them.

i may be up for a trade. i don't know if i can stand someone else getting palmer.

we'll see what i can give up -- and who decides to come out.

i voted for a 4-round mock. that'll get us into the first round of day 2 -- where there's always a nugget to be found.

i need some time to do some research.

i love me some mock draft.
