I give up. What are we going to do with him? He can't run block and we don't pass to the TE. Are they planning on using his as a 4th WO in certain sets or is Delhomme suddenly going to start dumping it over the middle?

I hear they've been working on his blocking techniques a ton. If he can improve those to be as good as Seidman or Gaines he could be a damn effective player in this system, because unlike them he may actually catch the 2 passes that are thrown his direction in a game.

Maybe we are expanding the role of the TE. Stranger things have happend in this world. Having two small WRs in the redzone or on the goal line might make us too predictable.

Don't be surprised to see that little Peppers at WR experiment a bit more this year.

Lets let him catch one pass before we count on anything. He caught 0 passes last year. Thrown to maybe 3 times

yep, it was a gimmick that never worked. Hell, Sapps shown a 100x more as a receiver.

If our O-line doesn't gel, Jake will be taking a lot of dumps in the middle.

Jones has got to show some kinda blocking abiliy. Not because we have other TEs that can't block but because it gives he play away if he can't. When he comes in the options must still be open to run.

It's true we don't throw to the tight end much but if you check the times when we do, you can see the passes come at criitical times in the games. One drop for a td aganst NO, several drops for fiirst downs during the season. Our TEs should have an opportuniy to show up big if they could catch. I think the coaches saw this and are looking to ramp it up this year.
