On team captains: On offense, it will be Jake Delhomme and Muhsin Muhammad. On defense, it will be Mike Minter and Mark Fields. On special teams, it will be Karl Hankton.

On game-planning for Green Bay: It is the real season, and opening night will be here soon.

On having one extra day of practice by playing on Monday night: We are not getting all geared up yet just because we have some extra time. This (playing on Monday night) just gives us more time to look at what they do and how they do it. We have got some bonus days here. We don't want to get too ready too soon. Today was a light workout. It was a good, sharp workout. They will have meeting time to study Green Bay.

On how the extra time is being used to prepare for the Packers: All of our attention is on Green Bay, but I don't want to spend six days grinding them for Green Bay. We are definitely getting ready for Green Bay. It is kind of a different level.

On the excitement of playing on Monday night: The whole world is watching. All of your peers are watching. I think that is probably the biggest thing. You are one of two teams that are not playing on Sunday. That comes with a lot of responsibility, and these guys understand that. We will talk more about that when we get to real business on Thursday.

On being the opening Monday Night Football game of the season: It is something you strive for. I think it is really great for our fans and our city that we have a Monday Night Football game here in Charlotte. It is another game that we have got to prepare for, and none of them are easy.

On injuries: (Matt) Willig is going to be out there at practice. He practiced today and will practice the rest of the week. Tutan (Reyes) has got a chance to be ready. He is day-to-day for this game.

On what position offensive lineman Todd Fordham will play: He has got some versatility. We will look at him at both tackle and guard.

On the possibility of adding players who were waived or released by other teams: We look at that all the time. It is a hard question for me to answer at this point. Our pro personnel people and (general manager) Marty Hurney look at that everyday. If anything looks intriguing, we get involved. If not, we stay pat.

Muhsin a captain yet again :applause: Glad the team doesn't give up as easily as fans do.
Jake - finally our starting QB is a captain again. The team really should've moved Jake in after Peete was obviously not coming back. Can't argue with Minter or Fields, obviously, and Hankton keeps proving it. That guy's been here five years now.

Thats very good news.

i imagine the reyes thing is complete bs, as in he has a snowball's chance in hell of playing. seems we've heard that before and its been 3 weeks away.

I think he was slated as 'maybe' for GB all along.

Moose is going to have a great year. Smitty drawing the doubles and Moose has got some luggage off his back, couple of more threats to watch when we go 4 wide, should be an awesome season for both those guys.

Moose rocks.

I kinda think Reyes doesn't start regardless at this point. Its Brzeznski's job to lose. He played pretty good against Pittsburgh and another decent game and he may pretty much take the spot. I honestly am a bit curious about RT tough. I liked the fact we could run w/ Dave Kadela, and I think if he'd get another start, he'd bump Willig from the starting lineup.
