I hate to harp on this over and over, but it yet again does not sound like Henning is on the same page as Fox. Look back at the interview with Henning pre-draft, and then look at what the team wanted to say pre-draft, and it's only similar, it's really not exact. Seems like there were some comments by Fox about Henning that weren't in a great light, re: his performance.
Seems like that's happening on the field. Fox wants conservative, Henning brings simple. I know Dan can put together a good gameplan, he's not stupid enough to think two traps off RG and then a draw off RG is a good series. So I have to surmise that when Fox wants to tone it down, Henning dumbs it down.
But to get on to topic at hand, why shouldn't Henning be on the same wavelength as Fox? Sure, it'd be great to already know who's going to start every preseason game and work through that. But it'll come. You do it week by week, not clumps of months at a time.
Does bring up an interesting point, though - do you start Peete and Delhomme individually once, and decide from there? When do you work in Weinke - a starting caliber player who supposedly has a shot at it - to play against anybody worth a damn?
