...what's the true story on Manuel? Majority says he "sucks", and I'm not disputing it. I just don't know anything, other than he started 2/3 of the 2005 season for the NFC Champions, and picked off Delhomme in the NFCCG. I do recall announcers touting him as a physical, tough hitting safety.

That's all I know. So, does anyone have tape on him?

He's better than Salley and Cooper, so all this "sucks" shit can go until somebody can have something to say about him one way or the other. If we had signed him in April, we'd be talking about how we're still cautiously optimistic and he's just gotta adjust.

He can get to the ball, and he can tackle. He's not especially slow. That's better than the two guys we have, and comparable to Harris.

BTW, Jarrett Bush finished 3rd on the Packers in ST tackles. He played in every game last year for the Packers, and I still think it was a mistake to let him go. After all this time, Howard fiasco or not, we ended up simply replacing Dante Wesley with Dante Wesley and just let the position do fuck-all nothing for a year.

When you get cut for Atari Bigby, you're obviously not All-Pro. I thought he was an average starter in Seattle. That's pretty much what we're getting. He's not a ballhawk or anything like that, but I think he'll do okay in our scheme.

I haven't seen anything good written about his ability on a football field anywhere, yet. Certainly the whole world isn't biased against him.

I hope the guy is the answer but I'm not hearing or reading anything that says he will be. Of course that doesn't mean I think we're okay there, or are going to find the answer in time.

So, we basically know nothing.

Not unusual. We're 0-0, and the preseason was anything but revealing. Perhaps our coverage will haunt us this year. Fine. It's not just the safeties. Our LB's aren't too smooth in that dept.

Let's try it out. We did punk STL last year with Christian Morton in the slot. We just won't know how bad it is until we get the live bullets flying.

We should be scoring 21-24 points/game this year, particularly with this schedule.

yep. it's wait and see. He's shown some solid play. Yeah, having Woodson turn on him for whatever reason isn't good, but everything in and about that GB situation was a little off. He seemed fine before that, so who knows. Either way, he's better than Cooper, who should be better than he is.
