I am not sure if this helps anyone in the Metrolina area as before TW it was Vision Cable and Cablevision, but perhaps some good news for others.

WASHINGTON -- The Federal Communications Commission Wednesday ordered Time Warner Cable to reinstate the NFL Network on systems the company acquired from defunct operator Adelphia Communications Inc.

The commission issued an emergency order to reinstate the network on a temporary basis after NFL Enterprises LLC complained the network was booted without giving subscribers the required 30-day notice. The cable network is scheduled to show 54 NFL preseason games and eight NFL regular-season primetime games this season. Preseason play begins Aug. 11.

Time Warner picked up about 3.5 million subscribers from Adelphia in western New York, Ohio, Texas, southern California, Maine, North Carolina and South Carolina, according to the FCC records.

I hope this applies to Cox as well (ch. 254 was dumped after they merged with someone else to become Suddenlink), because if NFL Network isn't back on cable by the time I have to pay my bill, I'm canceling my service.

See if this makes sense: TW owns the Braves and Turner South. Here in Myrtle Beach we have the Braves' A farm team. They have TW cable here but will not put TS on it. Seems like it would be in their best interest to promote the Braves in this area on their own damn cable system.

No wonder they've been bleeding money for the last few years.

NFL Network is also partly to blame. They initially wanted beween 20-25 cents per month per subscriber but this season raised it to has high as 75 cents. This is what Time-Warner is in negotiation about and why all the hard ball stuff.

PF, my understanding is that the price only raised for networks that hadn't already signed on for the channel. Those who were already under the old price got to stay that way. The sticking point as of now is that NFL Network is demanding to be put on basic cable, not digital cable. Obviously the cable companies balk at that, because there's no reason to have digital cable otherwise.

Realize the difference...

Many football fans are laboring under the delusion that the "NFL Channel" will give them access to Sunday games. That isn't true. Only "Sunday Ticket" on DirecTV furnishes that capability. The NFL Channel is certainly interesting, is on all the time, and will carry ALL the preseason games (though not on a timely basis) and a FEW live regular season games. Eventually, it will play a bigger part in live coverage. But if you want to watch live Sunday action, Sunday Ticket on DirecTV is the only way you can go at this point.
