On Panthers.com, Jake said it was Henning that came over to him and made the switch at QB, not Fox. I know that most head coaches don't make changes directly... leaving the coordinators to do that. My point being, I think (gut feeling) that pulling Peete was a Henning move moreso than Fox pulling the plug on Peete. Fox made the demotion sound like a tragedy during the presser, giving every excuse in the book in Rodney's defense other than Peete just couldn't get the job done.
I can't believe that Rodney didn't get demoted all the way down to 3rd string. His initial role as a clipboard holder/QB coach that was intended for last year has finally arrived. Weinke needs to be the 2nd string QB, period.

Yep. We owe Rodney what? Other than his check every month, nothing. There are only two people who really seem forlorn about this whole Rodney benching thing, and those two are John Fox and, well, y'all remember Collin. He went apeshit at the other board over all the respect we owe Rodney for leading us to seven wins. Classic, and he got ran too.

Yep, Fox's body language wasn't good at all. Acted like he hated to do it. Made every excuse under the sun for Peete. Even called him a victim of circumstance. I about lost my cookies on that one. Where was the defense of Weinke last year while he let not only the press, but his own teammates dump the blame for 2001 squarely on him?
Some one on the post game show yesterday said Weinke refused to sign an autograph saying why would you want mine, I'm just the waterboy here? Keeping Peete #2 said a lot to me. Weinke isn't going to get a shot unless both QB's go down.
