Is this guy progressing? Anyone know?

I loved the pick, and I loved how aggresive we were in last year's draft with taking skill players. Gamble, Colbert, Carter, etc.

I would love to see Carter healthy coming into camp, giving him a shot at running around in a few pre-season games. I'm curbing my enthusiasm about him for the moment, but I remain somewhat optimistic.

Thoughts?

This line from the huddle report draft write up sums up Carter.

"Drew might be a figment of someone's imagination. I have seen him in exactly three plays in two years. I dare any scout to say he has seen Drew in more than three plays in two years. "

We get anything, gravy, but don't hold your breath.

He's been injured at every level he's played, so I have a hard time believing he can sustain an NFL season. He has talent, no question. He was a long jumper at Ohio State and a state champion in high school, so the guy obviously has natural athletic ability. I'd call it a coin flip, a 50/50 chance we took on him.

50/50? More like 15/85!
We could call this pick a success if he actually suits up for a regular season game...and that sucks!

I got his rookie card....topps....anybody want it.....$2.....

Like it was said before. I don't expect anything outta Carter. I'm not gonna rule out any chance of his return, but anything that the Panthers get from him is gravy.

Carter was a long shot taken in anticipation of releaseing Moose.
Which makes him a bust, with whitewash on him. It was a bad pick from the start - I wasn't huge on PK Sam, but he was a guy I liked more than Carter, and Triandos Luke was better than either. The thing is, we didn't need a damn receiver.

Was Carter ever a returner in college? I know he had the speed, but I don't remember if he played STs. If so that may be part of why he was picked.
