Firing a coach during the season never, ever works. Ever. Jeff Fisher took over midseason in Houston and has had a nice career, but that's about the only positive example. What are you trying to accomplish? You might as well let the guy finish out.

yeah. Especially given that Wilson was supposed to have been reluctant to do what he should've done last year, partly to monetary concerns.

I mean, you still have to pay him, and you can't force him to resign, and now your season is ruined completely.

All this only from the Mike Brown point of view.

As an actual coach, Jauron looks like the Marinelli type that seems to know what's going on, knows the game, has his players' respect, but is still an abortion of a head coach. Jauron actually has a solid past as a coordinator, though, and will probably return to being a good coordinator (probably under Holmgren).

I thought he did a good job in his first two year, having that team in playoff contention in December. Last year's collapse was bad, and the way he handled the OC situation was worse. He definitely needed to go. I just don't see the value in making the move now. I mean, now you're making Fewell be the head coach and run the defense? I don't see how anything good can come out of that.

He's going to have trouble being understood at pressers without teeth.

    T.O.

did we anticipate that a team where Owens is playing would go without drama?
