That area was certainly a weakness last season. What do you guys who watch a lot of college ball think about our two third round DTs? Can either or both of them be counted on to contribute right away? What are the odds they end up both starting?

The door is wide open for them considering our lack of talent at the position. I hope they show something in camp, assuming we have camp, and can play right away. If we keep our linebackers and our DTs can do a good job of being space eaters the front seven could be pretty awesome.

Not a fan of either guy, really. They're both the type of role players who are only good at one thing.

I still think taking Dareus and then getting a veteran QB would have been a better way to go. It might have made our defense very good.

Hi, KC, thanks for the chat. The buzz about Carolina's D-line is that Derek Landri is eminently dispensable -- but I thought I saw some metrics showing him surprisingly adept. Do you have any insight? Thanks!

Dispensable? He was probably their best defensive lineman, or at least he was the best against the run. If Carolina wants to let him go, there should be a long line of teams that want to sign him (at least they will if they broke down the tape).
