Damn this is impressive. From cat stats:

* Carolina ranks third in total defense. Defensively, the Panthers are second in yards per play, fourth in rushing yards per game, third in passing average, and third in points allowed.

* If the Panthers hold opponents to a combined total of 33 points or less in the last two games, they will achieve the second best mark in team history. The Panthers have allowed 224 points through 14 games. The fewest they have allowed in a season was 218 in 1996. The second fewest was 258 in 2002.

* The Panthers are second in the NFL with 36 take-aways. They are third with 21 interceptions and third with 15 fumble recoveries. They are also tied for third with a plus 12 in turnover margin.

* Carolina is fourth in red zone offense and second in red zone defense.

* The Panthers yield just 4.14 yards per play on first down, second only to the Bears.

Overrated Jenkins showed up at camp slightly larger then before. . . Ever think about what extra weight can do to the knees. We're better off with out him unless he comes back into camp next year down some pounds, if he comes in at the same wieght, he's done for . . the knee will never hold up

The biggest thing I hoped for, out of our defense, was that we could cover better than 04 but still have the takeaways. We were never that good in takeaways in 02, 03 because we couldn't get the picks, and now we have a very stout run defense, a loose but potent pass defense, and all without an overwhelming amount of sacks.

Off topic, but I didn't want to start a new thread; about the D against Dallas this week, as noted by TMQ on the Injuns vs the cowgirls, interesting:

normally teams blitz the immobile Bledsoe -- but the Cowboys know that, so much of their game plan this season has involved quickly getting the ball out to whomever is left open by the blitz. The tastefully named Gregg Williams, defensive boss of the Skins, knows that. He double-crossed Dallas by not blitzing, dropping seven into coverage. Bledsoe scanned for the man left open by the blitz, and saw no one open immediately; he then fell into his bad habit, holding the ball too long, and a four-man Washington rush was able to sack him seven times, plus force bad decisions. Bledsoe was sufficiently confused by the Redskins' failure to blitz that afterward he said Washington must have been playing cover two (zone) when the corners double double-crossed him by playing man (what normally happens on blitzes).

he needs to stay over in NOTD making an ass of himself bashing conservatives, pubs, the president, etc.....

Of course, he could go recommend to Jenkins and Keith Traylor how they can lose some weight due to their obeisity.
