Lately, I think this will be the focus of the draft. With Jenx wanting out, Lewis getting starter money, and Kemo to cost $3.9 million in 2009 salary, we're looking for something new.

I really wish things weren't so grim with Jenx. He's the best we've ever had there, and I have a hard time thinking we'll find someone better.

It'll be interesting to see what happens at end, as well. Johnson didn't seem highly regarded, McClover was a training camp wonder, Rucker is old, Peppers is an enigma.

I see these guys making alot of changes.

I think (not that I agree with it) we'll spend a 1st on a DE, probably Campbell, and re-sign Rucker- McClover is likely the odd man unless he is a special teams demon.

If a good OL (Clady) falls to us then that should be the choice but I don't see it happening.

Are we really in that bad a shape at DE. We got Johnson in the 3rd round last year and I thought he played very well and would project him the starter next year. Pep returns to his old ways and we've got McClover as depth. Resign Rucker as a backup and we're set.

The problem area is DT, espeically if we lose Jenks. We've got Lewis who looks to be a starter but the Panthers have always paid D-linemen well even if they're not starters so he's not a sure full time starter. We've got Kemo who is just keeping pace and doesn't really do much of anything. Isn't Morehead a FA? Seems to me we need to take a DT in round one. Only no way is Dorsey or Ellis going to drop to us at our pick and there are not really anymore 1st round DT's.

Scouts, Inc updated DL rankings as of today. Last year, the third DE to go in the draft was Adam Carriker at #13.....that would be Merling this year. He seems to be rising above Campbell in many rankings...

I disagree. Kemo and Lewis are enough, add Moorehead and a mid to late round pick and we should be fine. If Jenkins stays we do not even need to draft a guy. We have lets some guys walk that were decent the last few years in camp because we had better guys ahead of them.

At DE we have some questions. You count on those guys to generate a lot of your pass rush and our guys were weak last year.
